Simple Side Note v1.0.4 Is Here

Find any note in seconds — real-time search with instant keyword highlighting, right in your sidebar.

v1.0.3v1.0.4  ·  New Feature Update

If you've ever stared at a growing list of notes and thought "I know I wrote this down somewhere..." — this update is for you. Simple Side Note v1.0.4 introduces a built-in search feature that lets you find any saved memo instantly, without scrolling through every note you've ever taken.

Whether you're collecting vocabulary during an English study session, bookmarking useful phrases from an article, or keeping track of ideas across multiple tabs — the new search function keeps everything within reach.

🔍 What's New in v1.0.4

🔍 Memo Search — Find Any Note Instantly

The Saved tab now has a live search bar at the top. Type any keyword and your memo list filters in real time — matching both the title and the body of every saved note.

No need to remember exactly which note holds the phrase you're looking for. Start typing and the results narrow down automatically.

  • Real-time filtering — results update with every keystroke; no button to press
  • Searches title and content — no matter where you wrote the keyword, it gets found
  • Keyword highlighting — matched text is highlighted so you can spot it at a glance
  • One-click clear — an × button clears the search field instantly
  • Empty-state message — when no results match, a clear message tells you so (no blank screen confusion)

🛠️ How to Use the Search Feature

Using the new search is straightforward — no new menus or settings to configure.

  1. Open Simple Side Note and go to the Saved tab
  2. Click the search bar that appears at the top of your memo list
  3. Start typing any keyword — the list filters immediately as you type
  4. Matching memos appear with the keyword highlighted in yellow
  5. Tap the × button to clear the search and see all memos again

💡 Why Search Matters for English Learners

Simple Side Note was built to solve a specific problem: when you're studying English with Google's AI Mode, switching tabs to take notes breaks your concentration. You come back to the page and lose the thread of what you were reading.

But over time, a useful tool creates a new problem — too many notes. A session on idioms, another on business vocabulary, another on phrases from a TED Talk. The sidebar becomes a personal reference library, and that's a good thing — until you can't find what you're looking for.

Search solves exactly that. Your notes are now a searchable knowledge base, not just a list you scroll through. Type "subjunctive" or "phrasal verb" and every related memo surfaces immediately.
