[Update] Simple Side Note v1.0.1: Now with Rich Text & Smarter Saving!

I am thrilled to announce the release of
Simple Side Note v1.0.1! Since the first launch, my goal has been to provide the most seamless note-taking experience for language learners and productivity seekers.

Based on your feedback, this update focuses on making your notes more organized, expressive, and easier to manage. Here’s what’s new:

🎨 1. Say Hello to Rich Text Formatting (Powered by Quill.js)

Your notes no longer have to be plain text! I have integrated a powerful Rich Text Editor, allowing you to style your memos exactly how you want.

 • Highlight Your Learning: Use Bold, Italics, Underline, or Strikethrough to emphasize key vocabulary.
 • Organize with Headings: Structure your study notes using H1, H2, and H3 headers.
 • Color & Style: Add text colors and highlights to categorize grammar points or idioms.
 • Lists for Clarity: Use bulleted or numbered lists to create clear, readable vocab sets.
 • One-Click Clean: A new "Clear Formatting" button lets you reset the style instantly.
📝 2. More Intuitive "New Memo" Experience

I’ve replaced the old "Clear" button with a much more intuitive "New" button.

 • Fresh Start: Clicking "New" lets you start a blank note instantly, preventing accidental deletions of your hard work.
 • Better Workflow: It’s now much clearer when you are starting a new topic versus editing an existing one.
💾 3. Smarter Saving Logic (Update vs. Insert)

I have completely overhauled how data is stored.

 • Update Existing Notes: When you load a memo from the Saved tab, the app now enters Edit Mode. Clicking "Save" will update the current file instead of creating a duplicate.
 • Reliable Auto-Save: Every stroke is still saved in real-time. Even if you close your browser, your last work will be there exactly as you left it.
📥 4. Enhanced Word Export

Your beautiful formatting doesn't stay trapped in the browser!

 • The Export to Word (.doc) feature now preserves your rich text formatting. Your bolded words, colors, and headers will look just as good in your printed study guide as they do in the sidebar.
🐛 Other Improvements

 • Fixed: Resolved an issue where the "How to Use" button in the About tab was unresponsive.
 • Performance: Optimized the sidebar loading speed for a smoother experience.

🚀 How to Get the Update?

If you are already using Simple Side Note, your browser should update it automatically. You can verify the version in the About tab.
